Rutland Town School - Planning Room Assistant (Paraeducator) 2026-2027 School Year- Rutland Town School is seeing a Planning Room Assistant beginning the 2026-2027 school year. The Planning for Success (PFS) Room Assistant works with students to help support positive changes to their behavior, discuss and select alternative behaviors to avoid repeating inappropriate school conduct, and, if removed from a classroom, to make a plan to re-enter the classroom that is agreeable to the classroom teacher. This person is also responsible for assisting other support service providers and administration in following through on behavior plans specific to individual students.Job Duties: Coordinate and collaborate with teachers who have sent students to the PFS room.Report to the Behavioral Specialist and Assistant Principal/Principal (as needed). Assist in collecting, organizing, and disseminating data regarding student behaviors.Manage a digital data system with Behavior Specialist.Assist with data entry for disciplinary infractions that must be documented to the State of Vermont.
Help students process and reflect on their behavior. Communicate with parents per established protocol. Supervision of lunch/recess detentions and other necessary supervision of students.Supports students by collecting assignments for students staying for in-school suspension.HHB Training to be knowledgeable as a Designated Employee. Assists with other duties assigned by administration, such as but not limited to supervision of lunch and after-school administratively assigned detentions; lunch and recess duty, assists with supervision coverage for teachers' absences, including but not limited to pre-K.Qualifications: CPI Certification.Experience working with students in grades Pre-K-8.Ability to work collaboratively with others and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to enter data on computers and use student data management software.
