Poultney High School-Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach- Poultney High School is seeking a motivated, high-energy individual to lead our Junior Varsity Girls Basketball program. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of the game while fostering a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.The JV Coach plays a critical role in our athletic department, serving as a bridge between the middle school program and the Varsity squad. Your goal will be to develop players' technical skills and basketball IQ in a supportive, competitive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSkill Development: Organize and lead daily practices focused on fundamental skill-building (dribbling, shooting, defensive positioning).Game Management: Direct the team during JV contests, emphasizing fair play and strategic understanding.Mentorship: Act as a positive role model for student-athletes, emphasizing academic success and character.Collaboration: Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment with the overall program philosophy and system.Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices, games, and travel.QualificationsPrevious coaching or playing experience (high school level preferred).Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.Must meet all Vermont state coaching requirements (or be willing to obtain them), including: Fundamentals of CoachingFirst Aid/CPR/AED CertificationConcussion Awareness TrainingCriminal Background Check
