Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology desired or relevant experience or Quality Testing/ Quality Lab Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Mechanical Aptitude and Woodworking (Cabinetry) Skills. Ability to work with measurement equipment (calipers, force gauge…)
Additional Desired Qualifications: Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Essential Functions
IN-HOUSE TESTING PROCEDURES
- Pulls product and records the product on the test report.
- Sets up the stand and takes measurements as required by BHMA standards (or requested requirements) and records findings on the test report.
- Conducts tests to the cycles needed.
- Records comments and adds recommendations to the test report.
- Concludes products pass/fail status.
- Completes the report on the computer and distributes to appropriate personnel.
OUTSIDE TESTING PROCEDURES
- Pulls the appropriate product and identifies the product in a letter.
- Ships the product to be tested to third party testing laboratory.
- Communicates with third party testing laboratory on test scheduling and the product is discussed.
- Reports from third party testing laboratory Product tests are distributed to the appropriate personnel and the product test report filed.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Products that fail testing are discussed with the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Assurance Technician. The product is researched in order to diagnose reasons for failure.
- The new product is tested to meet BHMA standards.
- Retesting of changed products is conducted to ensure product durability.
- Products from suppliers are re-tested to ensure product durability.
- New supplier products are re-tested for change in supplier procedures.
MACHINE DEPARTMENT
- Machine setup (on current equipment)
- Machines rebuild and repair.
- Machine related customer support.
