Production Supervisor

What we are looking for:
Grammer is looking for a Production Supervisor, 3rd shift, to join our location in Delphos, OH. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment. This individual will have an opportunity to make lasting and positive changes in our team!

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising a 40 personnel operation in a union environment. Successful candidates possess a proven record in leading second or third shift operations, continuous improvement, technical ability and strong communications and computer skills. Previous injection molding or automotive experience preferred. Associates degree in business or technical area preferred plus 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Applicants must be willing to work afternoon or midnight shifts.

Job Functions:

• Labor Management:
• Assign job assignments each day
• Ensure safety and quality objectives are being achieved
• Direct and re-direct labor based on needs
• Ensure operators are performing their tasks to their instructions
• Corrective Action and Communication to all hourly employees
• Manage overtime and ensure compliance
• Developing both employees to achieve production goals and standard
• Develop necessary training needs and make sure employees are compliant
• Develop Lead Support Operators and that they are doing their job duties

Rate Management

• Insure all cells are recording their hourly rate
• Making sure we are achieving rate on all cells
• Quick reaction and direction to minimize financial impact

• Effective startup and shutdown of cells

Scrap Management

• Know the scrap issues per each cell
• Make sure operators are notifying you when issue occurs. Adherence to Production Report callout
• Minimize the impact of scrap
• Make sure good parts are not being thrown away. Question the parts in red bins
• Lead decision maker during shift for providing direction on good/bad parts

Process Audits

• One cell per day to establish process compliance.
• Document findings in employee records.

Health and Safety

• Ensure plant is clean, organized, and maintained each day
• Monitor and enforce all Safety and work rules.

Communication

• Hold regular pre-shift meetings

Qualifications Desired:

• High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor degree in related field preferred
• 2-4 years experience in a similar role
  
• Effective oral and written communication skills; experience presenting to external customers and internal teams
  
• Proficient in MS Office products such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  
• Ability to solve practical problems
  
• Must be comfortable working in an environment with pivoting priorities
  
• Basic math skills to create and/or interpret data for metrics reporting (ratios/percentages, common fractions)
  
• Other responsibilities as assigned
