Sr. Buyer

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Buyer to support procurement activities and ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. This role requires strong independence, the ability to collaborate across multiple departments, and proficiency with ERP systems-preferably Epicor. The ideal candidate will be skilled in interpreting specifications, understanding blueprints, and maintaining accurate Bill of Materials while cultivating strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage material replenishment activities and review planned material requirements to generate purchase orders.
• Monitor open orders, communicate order status, and work closely with suppliers to resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate quotes, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with new and existing suppliers.
• Ensure supplier certifications, Non-Disclosures, and compliance documents are maintained and up to date.
• Review and interpret specifications to ensure correct revisions are used for all purchased materials.
• Update part master data with pricing, lead time, and specification changes.
• Manage MRO requisitions and purchases.
• Participate in cross-functional improvement projects with production, manufacturing, and other internal teams.
• Support multiple software/ERP platforms and maintain strong familiarity with Epicor or similar systems.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, communicating proactively to resolve issues.
• Adhere to company procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing or production-support role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret specifications, and create BOMs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and previous MRP/ERP experience (Epicor preferred).
• Ability to work independently with strong initiative, self-motivation, and a consistent work ethic.
• Experience training or mentoring others is a plus.
