The Reconstruction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential and light commercial reconstruction projects related to fire, water, storm, and other property losses. This role works closely with homeowners, insurance adjusters, project managers, and production teams to ensure scopes are complete, pricing is justified, and projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The Reconstruction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential and light commercial reconstruction projects related to fire, water, storm, and other property losses. This role works closely with homeowners, insurance adjusters, project managers, and production teams to ensure scopes are complete, pricing is justified, and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess property damage and define scope of work
- Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate (XactAnalysis experience preferred)
- Review insurance reports and align scopes with carrier requirements
- Negotiate and communicate effectively with insurance adjusters
- Identify and write supplements as needed
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure scope accuracy and cost control
- Track estimate approvals and maintain documentation
- Maintain strong customer communication throughout the estimating process
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and reconstruction standardsQualifications
- 3 years of experience in restoration, reconstruction, or construction estimating
- Proficiency in Xactimate required
- Strong knowledge of insurance-driven repair processes
- Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
