Good Guard Security Inc. is a leading, elite contract security agency specializing in high-visibility asset protection and corporate loss prevention. We deploy premium security professionals to safeguard our clients' staff, shoppers, and merchandise.

We are currently hiring certified Armed Security Officers to support a major retail contract at our client locations in New Castle County.

Key Responsibilities

• Visible Retail Deterrence: Maintain an alert, high-visibility armed presence at the retail entrance and sales floor to deter shoplifting, organized retail crime (ORC), and disorderly conduct.
• Asset Protection: Partner with store management to monitor high-risk areas and prevent merchandise shrinkage.
• De-escalation: Defuse hostile encounters with disruptive individuals or suspected shoplifters calmly, professionally, and in strict compliance with Delaware laws regarding use of force.
• Post Orders & Compliance: Strictly adhere to our company's policies and the specific retail client’s post orders, ensuring flawless brand representation.
• Incident Documentation: Generate clear, detailed, and accurate digital incident reports and daily logs for our corporate office and the retail client.
• Emergency Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency services and local law enforcement (Wilmington PD / New Castle County PD) during critical events.

Position Requirements (Strictly Enforced)

To be legally deployed in an armed capacity in the State of Delaware, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Delaware Red Card: Must possess a current, valid Delaware Armed Security License (Red Card) issued by the Delaware State Police.
• Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Equipment: Must have your own approved duty firearm, a Level 3 retention holster, and standard duty gear.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in armed security, military, corrections, or law enforcement. Retail asset protection or loss prevention experience is a major plus.
• Background Standards: Clean criminal record with no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors (theft, drugs, domestic violence). Must pass a comprehensive background check.
• Bearing: Excellent communication skills, command presence, and a customer-service-oriented mindset appropriate for a busy retail environment.

Compensation

• Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour (Paid weekly via direct deposit)
• Company-provided uniforms (Duty rig and firearm excluded)

Schedule

• Afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available (aligned with retail store operating hours).
