Job Description:
The Accountant will be responsible for the general accounting portion of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare’s (GVMH) finance department. This includes preparation of general ledger reporting, accounts payable, payroll, quarterly and annual related tax reporting, and fixed asset accounting. Will assist with monthly financial statements, annual audit, budget, cost report and financial reporting. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high–energy department. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance and recording of fixed assets, reconciles subsidiary accounts to the general ledger on a monthly basis, assists and/or maintains required records and ledgers, prepares month-end accounting journal entries, reports, etc. Assists with preparation of annual budget, performs expense report tracking, including audit of reports on an as needed basis, assists in preparation of audit, wage index, DSH and Medicare cost report work papers, prepares and files quarterly payroll taxes as well as annual W2s and 1099’s, cross trains and back up Accounts Payable and Payroll, tracks and records leases and subscriptions according to GASB, maintains and analyzes organizations investment activities, foundation financial reporting, and performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education/Credentials:
Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance
