Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 or small group academic, behavioral, and social support under the guidance of teachers
- Assisting students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation
- Implementing behavior support plans and adhering to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Supporting mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as required
- Helping maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning
Qualifications:
- Active Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Compliance with TB testing according to district policies
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as necessary
- Current clearances or readiness to obtain them prior to start
Preferred experience includes:
- Background in school health, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or experience in CPI, PMT, or RBT is an advantage
