This per diem opportunity in Montgomery, AL is designed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) passionate about supporting student development in school settings. Working closely with educators, you will provide vital academic, behavioral, and social assistance to students, helping them thrive in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 or small group support tailored to students' academic, behavioral, and social needs under teacher guidance
- Assist with daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation
- Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support mobility, supervision, and personal care as necessary
- Promote a respectful and secure learning atmosphere
Qualifications:
- Active Alabama LPN license
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Compliance with TB testing and district clearance requirements
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as required
- Current background clearances or willingness to obtain before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Background in school health, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or experience in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT (Positive Management Techniques), or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) advantageous
