Summary
This position will be responsible for examining various systems within a vehicle to diagnose and repair any issues. This entails running computerized diagnostic tests to help identify components that might be malfunctioning, interpreting Port Service Bulletins, performing mechanical inspections, running system diagnostics, and replacing/repairing defective components. This position must be open to working overtime.
Responsibilities
Primary
Perform mechanical warranty diagnostics and repairs
o Correct major repair problems and difficult diagnostic tasks.
o Makes minor and major repairs to engines, chassis and appurtenances of mechanical equipment.
o Makes repairs, adjustments or replacement of parts and directs other kinds of servicing and maintenance work required.
o Determines the necessity for new parts and equipment, and makes requisitions
o Create bill of material (BOM), record labor time, and write detailed repair orders
o Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, using electronic testing equipment
o Repair, overhaul, or adjust automobile brake systems
o Test electronic computer components in automobiles to ensure proper operation
o Align wheels, axles, frames, torsion bars, and steering mechanisms of automobiles, using special alignment equipment and wheel-balancing machines
o Tune automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning
o Repair, replace, or adjust defective fuel injectors, carburetor parts, and gasoline filters
o Change spark plugs, fuel filters, air filters, and batteries in hybrid electric vehicles
o Replace defective mufflers and tailpipes.
o Diagnose and replace or repair engine management systems or related sensors for flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) with ignition timing, fuel rate, alcohol concentration, or air-to-fuel ratio malfunctions.
Secondary
Perform Port Upgrade Programs (Service Campaigns)
o Review port upgrade program instructions prior to vehicle evaluation
o Perform vehicle testing in preparation for adjustment
o Perform Port Upgrade Programs, official service campaigns
o Testing, examination, adjusting, servicing and repair of autos
o Inspect for quality issues with units prior to shipping
o Professionally and courteously interact with other employees, customers, and truck drivers concerning any defects in finished products
o Inspect vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made
Compliance & safety
o Maintain safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
o Review reports and observation of the efficiency of the shop
o Keep up knowledge of MSDS, EPA, and OSHA regulations

- Minimum 3 years of experience in Automotive Repair and/or Vehicle Maintenance Required
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Must keep up with all certification courses that are required for all OEM customers, CA driver's license
