- Pay Rate: $70.00–$73.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: 10 hour x 4 days a week, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM; some early shifts 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (or until structural heart procedures are completed). One of the 4 days designated as a late shift (clinicians complete the last patient of the day). 1 night call per week.
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend every other month
- Float Requirement: As needed

Job Summary
Registered Nurses needed for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. This is a high-priority contract position supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac catheterization settings with strong technical and clinical competencies across a wide range of cardiac interventions and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Assist with cardiac stent placement and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
- Manage left and right heart catheterization procedures
- Perform IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) placement and removal
- Support Impella insertion procedures
- Monitor and manage pulmonary artery line and Swan Ganz monitoring
- Perform rotablator atherectomy assistance
- Conduct scrub procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation
- Administer emergency medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and IV vasopressors
- Prepare and maintain IV infusion pumps and establish and maintain IV access
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias
- Monitor Activated Clotting Time (ACT) during procedures
- Perform and assist with cardioversion procedures
- Circulate procedures as assigned
- Monitor end-tidal CO2 levels
- Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Perform sheath removal and post-procedure monitoring
- Apply topical hemostasis agents (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch)
- Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, MAC LAB, CUPID, EPIC, and SBAR communication protocols
- Complete 24-hour unit orientation
- Participate in float assignments as needed
- Work 1 weekend every other month
Education Requirements
- RN License required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
