The Maintenance Planner supports a manufacturing environment by managing work orders, building detailed maintenance job plans, and coordinating tools, labor, and materials through the CMMS system. This role ensures safe, efficient, and well-documented maintenance practices that minimize downtime and support continuous improvement across the plant.Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe and clean work environment with safety as the highest priority.
- Ensure all scheduled work incorporates proper safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the planning workflow process, including work identification, detailed planning, coordination, and auditing.
- Develop detailed job plans for maintenance work, covering safety, labor, tools, materials, and procedures.
- Maintain a job plan library within the CMMS for future tasks.
- Act as a link between PM/PdM programs and actionable repair plans.
- Manage and prioritize the backlog of work orders and facilitate review meetings with Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Quality, and Engineering.
- Identify materials for planned work and create new item numbers as needed.
- Generate purchase requests for non-stock parts and tools.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for planned maintenance activities.
- Review and process maintenance work orders to a Ready-to-Schedule or Awaiting Materials status.
- Maintain preventive/predictive maintenance plans and frequencies in the CMMS.
- Partner with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering on planned work and resource needs.
- Support planning aspects of projects including design input, cost estimation, and capital request preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience (continuous process preferred).
- 3 years experience within a maintenance department using CMMS systems.
- Associate’s or technical degree in a related field.
- Experience with critical path analysis.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes and industrial equipment.
- Understanding of maintenance planning and coordination principles.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
