Job Summary
This is not a typical Cloud Engineer role — the focus of this position is the governance of cloud engineering. The Cloud Engineer – Junior will deliver production-ready governance solutions with minimal guidance, ramping up within 2–4 weeks. The role involves owning end-to-end delivery across design, build, and documentation, with an automation-first mindset and a focus on scalable guardrails and reusable frameworks.

- Deliver measurable outcomes: increased policy compliance, reduced configuration drift, faster onboarding, comprehensive resource guardrail enforcement, reduced vulnerability MTTR via triaging, and improved lifecycle compliance via TLM
- Provide strong documentation and knowledge transfer
- Collaborate effectively across distributed teams
- Adapt quickly while maintaining high delivery velocity
Azure Governance & Policy as Code
- Design and enforce Azure Policies as Terraform code and guardrails across subscriptions
- Manage RBAC, security posture, compliance, and lifecycle standards
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Build and maintain reusable IaC modules (Terraform and ARM)
- Automate landing zones and standardized environments
Azure Automation
- Build Azure Automation runbooks (PowerShell/Python) for tasks
- Ensure reliability with logging, error handling, and best practices
- Use Managed Identities for secure, credential-free access
- Oversee runbook lifecycle: version control, testing, and deployment
- Automate provisioning, compliance checks, remediation, and security triage
- Use PowerShell, Python, or Bash for end-to-end automation
DevOps & GitHub
- Integrate governance into CI/CD (Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, GitHub repositories)
- Enable policy validation, security scans, and drift detection in pipelines
- Manage code via Git-based workflows
What You Deliver

Required Experience
- 3–5 years' experience in a cloud engineering role
- One (1) plus years of governance experience
- Hands-on experience with Azure Policy (initiatives, guardrails, remediation)
- Hands-on experience with RBAC and identity governance
- Hands-on experience with subscription / landing zone design
- Hands-on experience with resource guardrails across Azure services
- Hands-on experience with Azure vulnerability triaging (Defender for Cloud, Wiz)
- Proven experience with IaC tools (Terraform and ARM)
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline governance integration
- Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance
- Experience with Git-based development workflows
- Experience with architecture and governance models
- Experience troubleshooting Azure environments
- Exposure to TLM practices
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Azure API Management (APIM)
- Improving API governance maturity (APIM/API Center)
- Familiarity with Azure API Center
- Securing and standardizing AI/API integrations leveraging MCP
- Awareness or initial exposure to MCP (AI integration patterns)
