Overview
We are seeking a proven Plant Manager to lead a high-volume poultry processing facility operating in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment. This role has full accountability for plant performance, overseeing the entire operation from live receiving through harvesting, deboning, packaging, and distribution.
The Plant Manager will drive results across safety, food safety, quality, service, and cost, while building a high-performing team and delivering consistent operational excellence in a USDA-regulated facility.
Key Responsibilities
Lead End-to-End Plant Operations
- Direct all aspects of operations from live receiving through finished product shipment
- Lead cut-up, debone, tray-pack, and case-ready packaging operations
- Ensure seamless execution across multiple production and sanitation shifts
- Deliver against daily production, yield, and service targets
Drive Performance & Efficiency
- Own plant KPIs, including yield, throughput, labor efficiency, and cost per pound
- Optimize line speeds, staffing models, and product flow across departments
- Reduce waste, giveaway, and downtime while improving overall equipment effectiveness
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and cost savings
Champion Safety & Food Safety
- Maintain full compliance with USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and GMP requirements
- Ensure audit readiness and execution of all regulatory and customer standards
- Drive a strong safety culture with a focus on injury reduction and accountability
- Partner closely with FSQA to ensure product integrity and brand protection
Lead People & Culture
- Build, develop, and lead a team of department managers and supervisors
- Create a culture of accountability, urgency, and operational discipline
- Strengthen leadership capability and succession planning across the plant
- Engage and motivate a large, hourly workforce in a high-demand environment
Own Financial Performance
- Manage plant P&L, labor budgets, and operational spending
- Identify and execute cost savings opportunities across labor, yield, and materials
- Develop and support capital investment plans to improve capacity and efficiency
Ensure Asset Reliability
- Oversee maintenance, utilities, refrigeration, and wastewater operations
- Ensure execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Improve uptime across processing and packaging equipment
- Lead capital projects and equipment upgrades
Salary : $175,000 - $245,000
