As our next Plant Manager, you will lead plant operations—including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people—to achieve business objectives. This role owns daily production performance, drives continuous improvement, ensures regulatory compliance, and develops a high-performing culture aligned to company values. The Plant Manager partners closely with Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, HR, and Finance to meet customer commitments and profitability targets.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Oversee all production, maintenance, engineering, quality, logistics, and facility operations.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production goals are met in alignment with customer requirements.
- Monitor key metrics (safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost) and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and customer specifications.
- Lead, coach, and develop department managers and supervisors to build strong, high performing teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and open communication.
- Partner closely with HR to address staffing needs, employee relations concerns, performance management, and training initiatives
- Champion a zero-injury safety culture, ensuring adherence to all OSHA/EPA, LOTO and company safety standards
- Maintain high-quality performance by enforcing quality systems, auditing processes, and driving corrective and preventive actions
- Work with Quality to ensure product compliance and address customer concerns.
- Establish and enforce standardized authority to stop production or delivery when quality standards are not met
- Lead Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement efforts to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions.
- Use data and KPIs to drive performance improvements and strategic decisions: including but not limited to: OEE, DL, POH, & Scrap
- Full Accountability for P & L plant budget, including labor, materials, and operating expenses
- Partner with Finance and Operations leadership on forecasting, cost control, and capacity planning.
- Participate in strategic planning to support long term business growth and operational scalability.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, HR, and Corporate Operations to ensure alignment on priorities and initiatives.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customer visits, audits, and corporate leadership reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 7 years in manufacturing operations with 3 years in multi-shift leadership (superintendent/manager level).
- Demonstrated success driving and improving OEE, scrap, and throughput.
- Working knowledge of quality systems, EHS/OSHA, and ERP/MES systems.
- Strong financial acumen (standard cost, yield, absorption, variance analysis)
- Proven ability to lead through influence, manage change, and build engaged, diverse teams.
- Ability to frequently walk the production floor, stand, and conduct Gemba observations for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.; bending, reaching, and stair/ladder use as needed.
- Ability to use required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, etc.).
