Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- Perform structural dynamic analyses for missile and spacecraft flight hardware
- Produce and maintain models generated from both in-house and commercially available software codes, that simulate mechanical loading conditions, mechanism deployment motions, and the response behavior of missile segment and spacecraft separation events
- Perform loads development (primary structure and component level), shock and vibration environments determination and component and system level testing and data evaluation
- Prepare test plans; static, separation dynamics, vibration, modal and shock test execution, and post-test reports. You will be an important part of our product development team, where effective communication is critical
- Have the ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems
Qualifications (Experience, Education, & Skills)
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field
- Professional work experience performing structural dynamics analyses and loads/environments development for spacecraft, aircraft, or missiles
- 2 years of experience within structures AND structural dynamics
- Experience in finite element modeling and analysis using NX/NASTRAN, LS-Dyna, Wave6, or equivalent
- Experience in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulations
- Knowledge or experience implementing aircraft, missile OR spacecraft structural dynamic methods
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
- A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
- Experience in the planning and execution of static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing for aerospace flight hardware
- Proficiency with structural dynamics rigid body and flexible body analyses of composite structures, metallic structures, and/or mechanisms
- Proficiency in Finite Element Modeling, modal analysis, Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA), and model correlation/verification
