About the Company
Our team is currently looking for an ES&H Technical Analyst for one of our clients in the Mining Industry. The purpose of this role is to collect, study and analyze project and GBU ES&H data, to assist in the development and implementation of improvement efforts to support various ES&H functions in the areas of incident prevention, learning and development, Craft Based Leadership (CBL) and Six Sigma.
About the Role
Duties require accuracy, judgment, initiative, and understanding of relevant ES&H processes, automation tools and associated supporting computer software.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of company's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to aiding compliance with company's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
- Maintain ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement.
- Identifies and supports any unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H personnel.
- Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues.
- Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
- Assists with incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports.
- Recommend and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential.
- Participates in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
- Research moderately complex issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
- Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience OR 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Technical knowledge of computer-based training development software.
- Technical knowledge of Adobe Suite Desktop publishing software, SharePoint web developer, FrontPage programming code, and Flash incorporation into training products.
- Good knowledge of computer artwork and web design packages.
- Knowledge of learning and development systems, applications of both ES&H and automation methods, and application of computers to associated process improvement tasks.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to ES&H learning and development needs.
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication and in preparing clear and comprehensive correspondence.
- General knowledge of writing and producing training, marketing, and communication tools.
Required Skills
Technical knowledge of computer-based training development software, Adobe Suite, SharePoint, FrontPage, and Flash incorporation into training products.
Preferred Skills
Good knowledge of computer artwork and web design packages, and knowledge of learning and development systems.
