Job description:
Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Boca Raton, FL (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to support and strengthen core accounting operations. This role is heavily focused on bank reconciliations, general ledger accuracy, and month-end close execution. This is not a clerical Accounts Payable position—success in this role requires the ability to work independently, resolve discrepancies, and ensure financial data ties accurately across all records.
This position will also expand to support a second entity with its own set of books, offering growth and multi-entity experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies (timing differences, missing entries, mis postings)
- Reconcile all financial activity to the general ledger
- Maintain and balance monthly balance sheet schedules
- Prepare and post journal entries (payroll, accruals, adjustments)
- Generate and maintain month-end reports
- Support the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and completeness
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist with Accounts Payable processing (non-clerical volume)
- Support basic AR/AP functions for a secondary entity
- Assist with setup and maintenance of books for an additional company
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Strong experience with:
- Bank reconciliations
- General ledger analysis
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Month-end close processes
- Proven ability to independently identify and resolve discrepancies
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred
- Comfortable working with or transitioning into a multi-entity structure
- Intermediate Excel skills required
