We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Quality Inspector/Receiver to join our Quality Department. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of product data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), item master records, and related documentation. The Quality Inspector/ Receiving will serve as a key liaison between Quality, Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Sales to ensure manufacturing data is accurate, current, and aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and update multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) within ERP/PLM systems.
Create and manage item master records for raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods.
Ensure accurate product structures, revision levels, routings, and part numbering systems.
Data Integrity & Quality Control
Conduct periodic audits and reviews of BOMs and item master data.
Identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Report findings and recommendations to the Quality Leadership Team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Engineering teams to implement product and process changes.
Support manufacturing line setups, scrap factors, assembly requirements, and change control activities.
Ensure all product-related information is accurately reflected across company systems.
Process Improvement
Develop and recommend improvements related to BOM management, inventory control, part numbering, and system utilization.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Department.
Quality Support
Assist with maintaining compliance related to BOMs, item masters, and supporting documentation.
Support departmental projects and initiatives as assigned by Quality Leadership.
Preferred Additional ExperienceChange Control Administration
Support engineering change control processes.
Update engineering changes and effectivity dates to ensure smooth implementation and inventory transitions.
Deviation Management
Initiate, track, and document deviations from approved procedures.
Ensure deviations are properly investigated, documented, and resolved.
Document Control
Maintain controlled documents, drawings, specifications, and records.
Ensure compliance with document retention and security requirements.
Qualifications
Experience in BOM administration, engineering data management, configuration management, or a similar manufacturing environment.
Experience working with ERP or PLM systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product structures, and revision control.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
