Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Backup Line Lead to join our 3rd shift manufacturing team in a fast-paced pharmaceutical production environment. This role is responsible for supporting daily production operations, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and stepping into the Line Lead role as needed. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with leadership potential, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Line Lead in overseeing daily production activities and meeting production goals.
- Serve as acting Line Lead during absences, breaks, or as directed by management.
- Ensure all products are manufactured according to GMP, SOPs, and company quality standards.
- Monitor production processes to maintain efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Train and mentor production associates on procedures, safety practices, and quality expectations.
- Complete production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform line clearances, equipment checks, and changeovers.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment and production issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Communicate production updates, issues, and shift handoffs to supervisors and team members.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation, material handling, and batch record review as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing experience required; pharmaceutical, medical device, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Prior leadership, lead, or trainer experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, FDA regulations, and quality standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience completing production documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
