Leading Global International Banking group active in a broad range of financial products, including banking, capital markets, asset management, insurance, and private equity, seeks an “AVP – Loan Operations” with 5 to 10 years of related experience, preferably acquired at an international or money center bank. The ideal candidate will have experience working with commercial and wholesale corporate loan products, including syndicated loans, bilateral facilities, participation loans, revolving credit facilities, and term loans, along with related loan processing and general ledger reconciliation. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing Loan Operations workflow, managing a small team, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all loan transactions, investigations, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in systems such as Fusion Midas, SWIFT, Fedwire Funds, and Actimize (OFAC), and will have a strong understanding of BAFT compensation rules and applicable regulatory frameworks. Primary Responsibilities:
• Ability to manage Loan Operations workflow and supervise staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of loan transactions, including borrowings, repayments, fees, amendments, and loan sales/purchases.
• Verify and authorize transactions entered into Fusion Midas, including loan activity, fees, and related accounting entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
• Reconcile General Ledger balances versus loan system reports, including outstanding loan balances and upfront fee tracking; review and resolve discrepancies and error reports.
• Process and verify reporting related to loans pledged to the Federal Reserve (BIC program) and monitor changes in pledged balances.
• Prepare and distribute management reports for PDO, NALO, and Acquisition Finance portfolios for Head Office and senior management.
• Process journal entries related to loan write-offs, recoveries, provisions, and other accounting adjustments and reconcile and maintain documentation supporting lending activities, including notes, guarantees, and related records.
• Monitor and update system-driven variables such as Alternate Base Rate changes within Fusion Midas.
• Process and track break funding fees, investigations, and compensation cases.
• Ensure all operational processes and controls are followed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BSA/AML and OFAC regulations and internal compliance policies.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of “hands on” loan operations experience, preferably acquired within an international or money center banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial loan products, loan processing workflows, and BAFT compensation rules, including Fedwire Funds.
• Experienced in working with systems such as Fusion Midas, SWIFT, Fedwire, and Actimize (OFAC).
• Solid understanding of BSA/AML, OFAC, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation, loan accounting, and financial reporting.
• Strong PC skills including Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to interact effectively with Front Office personnel, auditors, and counterparties.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• College degree preferred.
