We are seeking an experienced and driven Traveling Safety Manager to support high-value Heavy Industrial construction projects, including manufacturing facilities, food & beverage plants, processing facilities, and data centers. The Role
As Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading all site safety initiatives and ensuring projects are executed in full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and field leadership to promote a proactive safety culture across all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce site-specific safety programs across large-scale Heavy Industrial projects
- Conduct daily safety audits, jobsite inspections, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client safety standards
- Partner with Superintendents, Project Managers, and subcontractors to proactively identify and mitigate jobsite risks
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Review and monitor JHAs, permits, lift plans, lockout/tagout procedures, and high-risk activities
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reporting, training records, and compliance logs
- Support onboarding and safety orientation for all site personnel and subcontractors
- Promote a strong safety-first culture while ensuring projects remain productive and operationally efficient
- Participate in project planning meetings, site walks, and coordination efforts throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager within Heavy Industrial construction environments
- Experience supporting manufacturing, food & beverage, processing, mission-critical, or data center projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial construction safety standards, and high-risk construction activities
- Experience managing safety programs on large-scale construction projects with multiple subcontractors
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-demand construction environments while maintaining strict safety standards
- OSHA 30 required; CHST, CSP, ASP, or other safety certifications preferred
- Strong understanding of fall protection, confined space, crane operations, energized work, and other critical safety procedures
- Relevant safety, construction, or industrial background preferred
- Must be open to nationwide travel and extended project assignments
