Owner’s Representative – Data Centre Construction
We are seeking a driven Owner’s Representative / Project Manager to support the successful delivery of mission-critical data centre projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, ENR-ranked organization delivering complex, technically demanding developments for leading clients across the data centre sector.
The Role
As Owner’s Representative, you will act as the client’s trusted advisor throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest operational and quality standards. You will oversee all aspects of project execution, managing stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and vendor teams while protecting the client’s commercial and strategic interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the owner/client across all phases of data centre project delivery, from planning and design through commissioning and handover
- Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and overall project controls
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design consultants, contractors, commissioning agents, and equipment vendors
- Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with project requirements, contracts, and industry standards
- Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting to clients and senior stakeholders
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks throughout the development lifecycle
- Support design reviews with a focus on constructability, operability, and mission-critical infrastructure resilience
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure successful turnover to operations teams
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all project activities
Requirements
- Proven experience managing mission-critical or large-scale construction projects, ideally within the data centre sector
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, critical infrastructure, and commissioning processes
- Experience acting in an Owner’s Representative, client-side, or consultancy-based project management role preferred
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in fast-paced, high-performance environments
- Relevant degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent are advantageous
