Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an English Second Language (ESL) Instructor based in Columbus, OH. The ESL Instructor will be responsible for teaching English to non-native speakers, creating and implementing tailored curricula, and assessing learner progress. Additional responsibilities include facilitating interactive classroom activities, providing individual support, taking attendance and fostering an encouraging and inclusive learning environment. Collaboration with fellow educators and participation in the organization’s initiatives will also be key components of the role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English Teaching, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and general Teaching practices
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferably)
- Knowledge of Linguistics, including language acquisition methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for teaching and mentoring
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, English, TESOL, or a related field
- TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification (preferred)
- Experience in teaching ESL students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Commitment to the mission of The Lingo Project and the ability to work collaboratively within a faith-based organization
