Position Summary:
Responsible for accounts receivable follow-up of assigned providers. Reviews Athena daily to ensure claim submission accuracy and payer acceptance. Communicates with patients and physician offices regarding outstanding claims and works to resolve billing issues efficiently.

Required Skills:
- Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards (including HIPAA)
- Understanding of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices
- Skilled in applying policies and procedures
Essential Functions:
- Perform accounts receivable follow-up for assigned providers
- Review Athena system daily for claim submission status and payer acceptance
- Communicate with patients and physician offices regarding billing and outstanding claims
- Ensure timely resolution of claim issues
Non-Essential Functions:
- Serve internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, clients, contractors, and vendors
- Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Demonstrate understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Notes:
Lead coder for Central Kentucky market. Must have supervisory experience and certification across multiple coding specialties.
