What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Administrator position at GENERATION AUTO GROUP?
As a Human Resources Administrator at Generation Auto Group, you will support the day-to-day operations of the HR department across multiple dealership locations. This is an entry-level position designed for someone looking to start a career in Human Resources while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced automotive environment.
You will play a key role in supporting onboarding, employee records, payroll processes, and general HR operations. Your work directly impacts the employee experience by ensuring processes are handled accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of professionalism.
This role offers the opportunity to learn the full employee lifecycle, gain experience with HR systems and payroll, and grow within a rapidly expanding organization.
What You'll Do
The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Assist with new hire onboarding, employee separations, and employee status changes throughout the employment lifecycle.
- HR Administration: Maintain employee records, process HR paperwork, and ensure employee files remain accurate and up to date.
- Employee Support: Serve as a resource for employees by answering questions related to payroll, benefits, timekeeping, policies, and general HR matters.
- Benefits Administration: Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, and benefit-related questions.
- Recruiting Support: Post job openings, review resumes, schedule interviews, and assist with pre-employment processes.
- Compliance & Documentation: Process background checks, employment verifications, and other required employment documentation.
- Payroll & Timekeeping: Assist with reviewing timecards, processing corrections, and supporting payroll administration through Paycom.
- General HR Support: Provide administrative and project support to the Human Resources department as needed.
- Travel: Travel between New York and New Jersey dealership locations as required.
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources
- Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems (Paycom experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with data and systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
