We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Project Manager to join our Facilities team located in Tupelo, MS. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operational aspects of a project and serves as the liaison between project management and the project team, planning, and line management to present and exchange information. Continually reviews status of the project and budget; manages schedules and develops appropriate reports to document progress of the project. Assesses project issues and develops solutions to meet production, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Participates in the development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project management, line management, and the customer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with development of project plan and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained.
  • Reviews, develops, and presents data concerning facility modifications including requested modifications, company policies, regulatory requirements, and required completion dates.
  • Assists with architectural and engineering cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans and specifications. Develops and presents timetables and schedules for projects.
  • Coordinates with architecture and/or engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detailed drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisitions.
  • Reviews estimated design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparations, and other related costs.
  • Monitor project schedule, timeline, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
  • Represents the department as the primary contact on contracts or projects and ensures assigned facilities activities achieve desired results.
  • Monitor work of project management staff, providing technical support and direction when necessary.
  • Create progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation. May present results to project staff when necessary.
  • Ensures projects are completed on schedule and within budget while maintaining government regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and other regulations.
  • Maintains, analyzes, updates, and develops various electronic and hard copy records and makes brief presentations as required.
  • May function in an advisory or leadership role and provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
  • May participate in the request for proposal (RFP) process to generate new business.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information and exercises independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
  • Observes all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and nine or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least three of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • A degree in engineering or construction management is preferred.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Must have a good understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management as well as the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.
  • Must possess the ability to initiate, plan and manage projects; the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a wide range of issues.
  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
