Responsibilities
- Uninstall lab equipment from test bays and staging areas, including unbolting and dismantling racks and cabinets.
- Assist with the removal and disposal of lab equipment, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Identify and extract unused or abandoned cabling from raised floor spaces, safely tracing cable runs until obstructions or active cabinets are reached.
- Systematically clean lab sections row-by-row, removing inactive cabling and ensuring minimal disruption to live systems.
- Move decommissioned equipment onto pallets for client asset disposal, with minimal tracking of serial numbers and inventory documentation.
- Remove unused peripheral equipment, cardboard packaging, and other debris from the lab floor, organizing materials on pallets.
- Document cleanup activities and asset statuses with photographs and written reports, including before-and-after visuals.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout the decommissioning process and adhere to all safety and access protocols.
- Manage Jira ticket assignments, update progress, and communicate issues or completion to project leads.
- Provide artifacts and documentation related to lab decommissioning efforts, inventory updates, and asset disposition processes to the client.
- Prior experience with equipment decommissioning, cable trimming, or lab cleanup preferred.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and work in an on-site laboratory environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and inventory management.
- Ability to work methodically row-by-row and handle cabling and equipment safely.
- Familiarity with Jira or equivalent ticketing systems is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Availability to work on-site in an on-demand schedule.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and handle equipment and materials as required.
- Basic understanding of server, network, or lab equipment is beneficial.
- Eligible to work in the required location, with necessary work rights.
