Summary/Objective
The Job Coach assists program participants with the economic stability activities which include job search and placement assistance, pursuing training and education, and retention activities.
Essential Functions

- Targeted recruitment of low income fathers with few employment skills
- Plan and facilitate job readiness training
- Secures community venues for program activities
- Administer job/career assessments
- Work in collaboration with the KY Career Center to assist in job placement
- Network with local industry , social service, and human resource personnel
- Provide referrals and receive referrals from community partners
- Work with program manager in marketing activities
- Collaborates with Case Manager to support client needs
- Assists in producing resource materials
- Facilitates the administration of client intake and evaluation
- Maintains participant files in compliance with agency PII policy and procedures

Work Environment
Work is normally performed in a typical interior office or classroom environment, with limited exposure to physical risk. Extended periods of time sitting in front of the computer.
This position may be required to work evenings, use virtual platforms, and to work inside substance use facilities, local/county jails, and state prisons as client needs and staff resources dictate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to type; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear; The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Employees will be moving audiovisual equipment and curriculum materials into venues and setting up rooms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends as required by program activities.
Travel
Travel is primarily within the five county jurisdiction. However, out of area and overnight travel may be expected depending on program requirements. Must be willing and available to participate in required and/or professional development opportunities. When traveling by car, a company/program vehicle must be used when available. If a personal vehicle is used, mileage will be reimbursed according to the agency policy.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Adult education teaching experience. An understanding of generational poverty and low income populations.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, communication, or related field. Job placement experience, knowledge of local/state job markets. Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities to be qualifying.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Excellent computer skills (Google, Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Use of Web Based Data Management Systems)
Additional Requirements
Valid Kentucky driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory background checks. Pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing as required. State required minimum vehicle liability insurance and uninsured motorist insurance. Any/all other testing or applicable checks required by local, state, or federal law.
