The Athletic Graduate Intern at Gardner-Webb University is responsible for promoting and assisting an environment where the administration, supervision and management of his or her intercollegiate sport within the parameters of the rules and regulations of Gardner-Webb University and the NCAA.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Recruiting:
- Assist our Recruiting Coordinator with posts and stories to put on IG and any other social media outlets to send to recruits
- Weekly post of games for recruits and coaches
- Spreadsheet of recruits’ games - AAU & HS schedules
- Create coaches’ schedules for AAU live recruiting periods
- Official and Unofficial visits on campus (as instructed by the RC)
Practice:
- On the floor 30 minutes early to prep for practice
- Assist coaches with pre-season & post-season workouts
- Attend each of our coaches’ workouts (rebound, defend, etc.)
- In charge of practice players
- Who can attend & track how many practices each practice player attends
- Put the practice players through opponents plays to help prepare team for games
Scouting:
- Clips and edits from Synergy or our editing software
- Personnel on the physical scout and personnel edit for the coaches
- Draw up each opponent plays on Fast Draw
- ATO’s and EOG’s edits and physical copy for games
- Print physical scouts for players and coaches
Game duties and responsibilities:
- In charge of managers to prep for on court warm-ups and locker room set up
- Stat Press percentages and outcome
- Stat Kills – 3 stops in a row
- Have ATO’s and EOG sheet ready
Other Duties:
- Assist the Equipment Coach as needed with equipment
- Assist with Camp
- Adhere to NCAA, University and Big South Rules and Policies
- Duties as assigned by Coach Williams
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

● NCAA experience preferred
● Valid driver’s license, and eligibility to drive a college van.
● BA or equivalent combination of education and experience
● Effective communication, interpersonal and public relation skills
● Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and enthusiastic team attitude
● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff
● Experience in planning, developing and administering budgets helpful
● Acceptance into a Gardner-Webb Master’s program required
