Position Summary

The Human Resources Specialist supports the day-to-day HR operations within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This role is responsible for supporting a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, HRIS administration, compliance, recruiting coordination, payroll/timekeeping support, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. The Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting operational excellence while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment practices.


Key Responsibilities

• Support employee relations activities by responding to associate inquiries, escalating concerns when appropriate, and assisting with investigations and follow-up actions

• Coordinate recruiting and staffing processes, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, onboarding coordination, and new hire orientation

• Maintain, audit, and ensure accuracy of employee records in HRIS (ADP Lyric), including new hires, job changes, terminations, and other status updates

• Process HR transactions in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures and payroll deadlines

• Assist with payroll and timekeeping functions, including reviewing attendance records and resolving discrepancies in partnership with Payroll

• Support benefits administration, including employee inquiries, invoice tracking, and communications

• Ensure compliance with HR policies and regulatory requirements, including I-9 documentation, audits, and tracking of work authorization expirations

• Assist with leave administration, workers’ compensation documentation, and related employee programs

• Prepare HR reports, metrics, and employee data to support management reporting and decision-making

• Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications

• Maintain electronic and paper employee files in accordance with company retention and compliance standards

• Partner with Operations, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, Safety, and IT teams to support HR processes and business needs

• Provide general HR administrative support and assist with special projects safety programs as needed

• Deliver high-quality customer service by responding to employee and manager inquiries in a professional and timely manner

• Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion at all times

• Support continuous improvement of HR processes and systems


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field preferred

• 2–5 years of HR, HR Operations, HR Coordinator, or HR Generalist support experience preferred

• Experience in distribution center, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or high-volume environments preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Experience with HRIS systems; ADP Lyric strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of HR processes, compliance requirements, and employee record management

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bilingual English/Spanish required


Pay Range

$65,000 – $70,000 annually (based on a 40-hour work week)
