Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to join our Halston Dresses team. This role will support the Design Director throughout the product development process by assisting with sample execution, technical design support, organization, and daily design operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about contemporary women's fashion, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the creation and maintenance of cost cards and seasonal development materials.
• Support the handoff of design development from the design team to Production for purchase order execution.
• Maintain and organize the sample room, coordinating with sample makers, cutters, and sewing teams.
• Track domestic and overseas samples to ensure timely delivery throughout the development calendar.
• Organize and maintain showroom samples to ensure presentation readiness.
• Maintain the seasonal swatch library by vendor, fabrication, and quality.
• Support CAD development in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, including preparing artwork and cleaning garment images for FileMaker and other internal systems.
• Assist with trend research, inspiration boards, and presentation materials for seasonal development.
• Partner with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, and Production teams to support daily workflow and ensure timely sample execution.
• Maintain strong organizational skills while managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 2 years of apparel design or design support experience; women's dress experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong hand sketching, CAD, and presentation skills.
• Basic understanding of garment construction, fit, and the product development process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

The pay range for this position is: $65,000 – $75,000 per year.
