Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Designer with strong Revit experience to support the design and production of HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional building projects. This individual will collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to develop high-quality construction documents and coordinated BIM models from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing system layouts utilizing Revit.
- Produce accurate construction drawings and coordinated BIM models.
- Assist Mechanical Engineers with equipment selection, system layouts, and design development.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.
- Maintain company drafting standards and quality control procedures.
- Participate in internal and external project coordination meetings.
- Revise drawings based on engineering markups and client feedback.
- Assist with field verification, site visits, and as-built documentation when required.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in mechanical drafting or design within the MEP consulting industry.
- Strong proficiency with Revit MEP.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Solid understanding of HVAC and plumbing system design principles.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and engineering plans.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on healthcare, education, commercial, or institutional building projects.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
- Associate's Degree or technical education in drafting, design, or a related field is preferred.
