Mechanical Engineer – HVAC & Building Systems
📍 Indianapolis, IN | Full-Time | Engineering
Are you a detail-driven Mechanical Engineer looking to work on meaningful building projects across Indiana? We’re seeking a technically strong, team-oriented professional to join our engineering group. In this role, you’ll work under the direction of a Project Manager to design HVAC systems, perform energy analysis, conduct site surveys, and support projects from initial concepts through construction.
What You’ll Do
HVAC & Mechanical System Design
- Design and specify HVAC systems using engineering principles and firm standards.
- Perform HVAC load calculations for buildings, spaces, and mechanical processes.
- Lay out and size duct systems; select grilles, registers, diffusers, air-handling units, and terminal units.
- Design hydronic, steam, and refrigeration systems, including piping layout and equipment selection.
- Design and specify building automation and control systems.
- Ensure clearances and spatial coordination across all MEPT disciplines.
Engineering Documentation & Support
- Conduct site surveys and document existing building conditions.
- Prepare construction cost estimates.
- Complete energy code compliance documentation and performance analyses.
- Edit and prepare project specifications.
- Review contractor submittals for compliance.
- Participate in coordination meetings with architects, engineers, vendors, and clients.
