PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

We are in search of a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR to work in our Newton, KS, facility. The position offers a challenging work environment where independence and creative thinking are the norm. This is a hands-on positon which reports to the Production Manager. The selected candidate will play a key role in the manufacturing leadership team and have the opportunity to develop both a micro and macro understanding of the role of operations within the business. This position has an emphasis on leadership growth and process optimization. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, strong communication and problem solving skills, and passion for leadership and continuous improvement.
The Production Supervisor will be expected to take initiative and responsibility for his/her success practicing accountability and effective communication while working to maximize production efficiencies. Responsibilities include:
· Coordinates and supervises all production activity (including scheduling).
o Ensures that products are manufactured in compliance with customer specifications
· Coordinates activities between each operation, changing scheduled activities as needed while maintaining a consistent flow of production
· May need to operate forklift or other loading equipment
· Verifies accuracy of month end physical inventory
· Responsible for maintaining expected material conversions/yield expectations
· Creates and maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment for self and plant personnel
· Assists in the selection, training and supervision of production employees
· Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees
· Enforces employment policies, procedures, and productivity standards
· All other duties as assigned
· Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or industrial, systems (preferred). Associates degree in a technical/leadership related field at a minimum.
· Five (5) years manufacturing experience
· The preferred candidate will have 2 years of direct Supervisory experience. Demonstrated direct leadership will be considered if under 2 years of direct supervision.
- Excellent organization skills, strong attention to details, the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and computer skills (Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both the production workforce and upper management
