Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

As a 1st shift Manufacturing Maintenance Technician at our facility in Garland, TX, you will be executing equipment repairs in a timely manner, completing preventive maintenance service, and assisting in engineering projects as needed. This is a hands-on manufacturing position that offers a challenging work environment where independence and creative thinking are the norm. The successful candidate will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

· Complies with all safe work practices, programs, policies, procedures and regulations with required PPE and OSHA regulations.

· Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose, repair, adjust and maintain and install machinery as needed to support quality and production targets.

· Conducts planned and unplanned maintenance work to reduce machine downtime.

· Repair, set up, and/or install equipment for operators tuning either mechanically or by changing parameters on Human /Machine Interface.

· Assemble and test machinery to make sure it is safe and operational before placing back into production.

· Assist operators on equipment set-ups to ensure proper operations.

· Requisitions for parts, components, supplies and equipment to be used in the maintenance area.

· Assist in equipment rebuilding activities and engineering projects.

· Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s, VFD’s, HMI’s and other various equipment.

· Completes detailed reports and other paperwork.

· Perform building maintenance.

Requirements

· Two to five years’ maintenance experience in an industrial production environment and knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.

· At least 2 years of journeyman experience.

· Background in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and advanced electrical controls system required.

· Four years of journey level l experience or completion of an approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance - (preferred).

· Demonstrated ability and willingness to work safely, take initiative, multi-task, and work both independently and as a part of a team.

· Capable of rapidly responding to unplanned equipment breakdowns during production.

· Ability to read, understand, and Create mechanical and electrical prints/schematics.

· Electrical, Pneumatic, and Mechanical troubleshooting skills

· Track record of continuous improvement and teamwork.

· Able to work in a team setting.

· Must provide one’s own hand tools required to perform job responsibilities.

· Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills.

· Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

· Able to work overtime/Saturdays as required and rotate shifts to cover vacations and Projects.

· Have a Valid Driver’s License and able Operate Forklift, Scissor and Man lift.

· Able to work in hot or cold temperatures
