SUMMARY
Future Foam is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for its fabrication plant in East Rutherford, NJ.
DUTIES
As part of our maintenance team, you will install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and physical plant systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect machinery and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair as needed
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other machine components.
- Installs and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to repair of plumbing and piping systems including air and hydraulic.
- Repair and maintain physical plant systems.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Carpentry experience a plus.
Qualifications/ Other Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Trade or technical school certification or equivalent- Preferred.
- 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills/Aptitude.
- Knowledge of general preventative maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and fluid equipment.
- Ability to safely and technically work in close proximity to and with others to perform repairs and installations in a safe manner.
- Certified in fork lift operations.
- Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance.
- Ability to wear PPE equipment including respirator.
- Provide one's own basic hand tools to perform job responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime including weekends and/or holidays if necessary.
· Position is physically demanding. Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing, and lifting objects.
