OVERVIEW

• This is a full-time, first shift position

• Hourly Pay Range: starting from $22/hr "Compensation Commensurate with Experience"

• Location: Future Foam Innovation Center at 8155 Cook St. Montague MI

• You will be a key person on a small team that is focused on the research and development of polyurethane foam technologies

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will be responsible for operating a pilot scale slab foam machine

• Load, unload and changeover of chemicals from drums, totes and pails

• Operate pumps, valves, and instrumentation. Manually and via a control system.

• Complete setup, disassembly and cleaning of various components

• Cut foam to specification utilizing various saws

• Operate foam testing equipment to generate data on foam samples o This portion of the role is optional if you have interest in gaining this skillset

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma is a requirement

• 2 plus years of DIRECT chemical handling: loading, unloading, sampling etc.

• 2 plus years of machine operation experience in an industrial setting

• Demonstrated history of following safety procedures, using PPE and executing lock out tag out

• Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills

• Must be able to effectively use an EMAIL system for internal and external communication

• Must be able to operate a fork truck with demonstrated experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Prior chemical handling experience on a near daily basis is mandatory

• Demonstrated experience running LIQUID based machinery e.g. pumps, valving, piping, heat exchangers, agitators, tanks, reading instrumentation etc.

• HAZWOPER training is a plus

• Ability to read mechanical, plumbing, P&IDs, and electrical schematics is a plus

• General understanding of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position is physically demanding

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally

• Must be able to occasionally wear a full faced respirator and pass a respirator fit test
