Position: Inpatient Pharmacist
Location: Alturas, CA 96101
Job Type: 13-Week Contract
Pay: $60–$69/hour
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Shift: Varied day shifts
- 5×8-hour or 4×10-hour schedule
- Some weekends required
- On-call coverage after scheduled shifts
Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, the Inpatient Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe and effective inpatient pharmacy services, including medication review, dispensing, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and clinical support while ensuring compliance with California State and Federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy and safety.
- Perform medication reconciliation and verify patients' home medications.
- Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare providers.
- Manage medication procurement, storage, distribution, Omnicell inventory, and emergency/crash carts.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, controlled substance management, and quality standards.
- Maintain pharmacy records, billing, purchasing, and documentation.
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) as needed and assist with pharmacy licensure and policy updates.
- Provide emergency retail pharmacy coverage on weekends and participate in on-call rotation.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- PharmD or equivalent degree.
- Active California Pharmacist License (or eligible).
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience.
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.
