Estimator / Assistant Estimator
Location: Hayward, CA | Full-Time | Onsite
A growing steel construction contractor is seeking an Estimator / Assistant Estimator to join its dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to build a long-term career in the construction and structural steel industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare accurate bid proposals
- Submit bid packages on time with all required documentation
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract requirements
- Communicate with General Contractors, Owners, and project stakeholders
- Evaluate project specifications, material requirements, and participation goals
- Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks
- Assist with pricing, contract negotiations, and bid analysis
- Maintain organized project and estimating records
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience in the structural steel and miscellaneous metals industry
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn
