Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Extrusion Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production activities, managing personnel, and ensuring departmental goals are consistently met. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
This position follows a rotating 24/7 schedule consisting of 3-4 consecutive 12-hour night shifts, alternating weekly based on the assigned rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and manage daily operations for the assigned department, reporting progress to leadership
- Foster a continuous improvement culture using Lean principles and ongoing evaluation of processes
- Provide hands-on leadership as a working supervisor when needed
- Assign work, set priorities, and oversee staffing to maintain efficient production
- Build and maintain a flexible, cross-trained workforce
- Deliver on-the-job training and support new hire onboarding
- Communicate expectations, monitor performance, and provide coaching to reduce turnover
- Administer corrective actions when appropriate and track performance metrics
- Monitor attendance and verify payroll records for accuracy
- Conduct annual employee performance evaluations
- Serve as part of the facility’s Emergency Response Team
- Use computer systems, including Microsoft Office and SAP, to support operational needs
- Apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve issues independently
- Manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through problem analysis and solution implementation
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or
- A two-year technical degree with equivalent relevant experience
- At least 5 years in a high-volume production environment
- At least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of production methods and best practices
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Ability to lead, engage, and motivate staff
- Solid mechanical and process understanding to support troubleshooting and minimize downtime
