Job Title: Temporary Accounts Receivable Specialist
Duration: Full-Time | 1–3 Month Contract | 40 Hours/Week
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a recent ERP implementation. This role will focus heavily on reconciling customer account balances, researching discrepancies, and identifying appropriate corrective actions such as credits, refunds, or adjustments. The ideal candidate has a strong AR background and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reconcile incoming customer payment files from multiple sources and resolve variances
- Research customer account discrepancies and determine corrective actions
- Post customer payments, issue refunds, and process adjustments within an ERP system
- Monitor and reconcile gift card and credit card activity; prepare related journal entries
- Review billing data, invoices, fees, and sales tax for accuracy
- Verify tax-exempt status and maintain accurate customer account records
- Generate invoices for customers with payment terms
- Analyze credit balances, process unclaimed property, and complete required documentation
- Prepare financial summaries and support month-end close activities
- Respond to internal inquiries and assist with customer account requests
- Ensure timely, accurate processing while maintaining confidentiality
- Provide support for additional accounting initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or Collections
- Strong reconciliation experience required
- ERP system experience required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Professional, team-oriented, and comfortable working independently
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
