What you can expect as a Billing Customer Service Specialist:
- Manage a high volume of inbound phone calls from insureds and agents, providing prompt, accurate, and courteous assistance in a call-center-like environment while maintaining service level expectations.
- Assist with departmental projects aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with underwriting and accounting teams to resolve billing issues promptly.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards in all billing related tasks.
- Process endorsements, including agency billing requests, payment plan updates, insured-requested cancellations, and others assigned by the direct manager.
- Provide timely and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond to telephone inquiries from agency partners and periodically mortgage companies regarding coverage verification and billing information.
- Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage and respond to billing-related emails promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and report on billing activities to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Support electronic payment processing and assist customers with payment-related inquiries.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What we are looking for as a Billing Customer Service Specialist Specialist:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); additionally, any undergraduate education desirable, minimum 2 years’ experience and/or training in P&C Insurance desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
An active 440, 2044 or 220 license is required. An insurance related designation or license for Property and Casualty Insurance is preferred.
