Our client is a global 3PL currently hiring a Customs Entry Writer into their New Jersey corporate office. With a well-established history, they are proud of their consistent growth and strong employee retention.
Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the LCB, the primary duty of the Customs Entry Writer is to support the Customs Brokerage Department by processing customs clearance documents and filing ISF filings timely and accurately. Since this position is primarily to review, submit, and monitor various customs clearance documents, with other duties required, the right candidate must be comfortable working independently while under supervision.
- Review entry documents for accuracy and communicate documentation discrepancies
- to the supervisor and/or controlling branch if something is missing or incomplete.
- File ISF’s in a timely manner.
- Must have knowledge of HTS US & PGA/OGA terminology
- Process various customs clearance documents through the Company’s ABI (Descartes OneView) system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate and advise interested parties of such releases.
- Provide Entry Summary and Cargo Release documents to appropriate branch.
- Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation.
- Onboard new client details into the ABI software system.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of entry writing experience.
- Familiar with ABI software applications (ideally Descartes OneView)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver a high-level service.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
