Position Overview
Box Loaders/Unloaders are responsible for efficiently moving freight into and out of trailers while maintaining a high level of accuracy, organization, and safety. Employees will work in a high-volume environment and are expected to maintain productivity while following established safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Loading
- Hand-load boxes from conveyor systems directly into trailers using floor-loading techniques.
- Scan packages into trailers using handheld scanning devices.
- Move cages and freight to and from designated staging areas.
- Organize and secure freight to maximize trailer space and maintain safe loading practices.
- Maintain accuracy and productivity throughout each shift.
- Safely unload boxes from trailers onto conveyor systems.
- Scan packages and accurately sort them into designated cages.
- Maintain consistent speed and accuracy in a high-volume work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines.
- Keep work areas organized and free of unnecessary hazards.
- Performance-based pay calculated per trailer and/or case loaded or unloaded.
- Average earning potential: $16–$25 per hour.
- Top performers may earn approximately $25–$35 per hour.
- Earnings are influenced by productivity, efficiency, and the amount of freight processed.
1st Shift
- Monday–Thursday
- 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Monday–Thursday
- 7:00 PM–5:30 AM
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
Qualifications & Requirements
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry packages weighing approximately 5–50 lbs.
- Ability to perform sustained physical activity for extended periods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and follow company procedures.
