What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY- School Nurse position at Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District?
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary LOVE of teaching and learning, believing every child can learn, be collaborative, bring joy and kindness to school each day.
1. Assess and evaluate student health needs
2. Assume the responsibility for assessment and triage of sick and injured children and staff
3. Assist in the identification and education of students with special health problems and special educational needs
4. Respond to potential health problems and/or concerns
5. Observe school facilities and recommend modification necessary to maintain optimum health and safety of students and school personnel
6. Administer medications per school department and Massachusetts Department of Public Health policy
7. Classroom resource person
8. Assume other duties assigned by the ESY Director
9. This program runs from July 7, 2025 to August 7, 2025. Monday-Thursday 7:45-1:15 - the nurse will need to be available to be on sites.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a current valid, license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
Must be DESE certified or certifiable as Nurse, All Levels
Experience working with Students with Disabilities
Experience working in the Freetown Lakeville Schools, preferred
POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
● (1) District Wide ESY Nurse: Stationed at George R. Austin Intermediate School.
● Travel to other school buildings required.
● July 7, 2025 to August 7, 2025. Monday-Thursday 7:45 AM - 1:15 PM
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Commensurate with experience, days/hours assigned
