Key Responsibilities
As a Ground Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Maintain county parks and school grounds through mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and general landscaping.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, tractors, dump trucks, and other light-to-heavy machinery.
- Perform minor repairs and upkeep in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general facility maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, pools, and park amenities to safety and quality standards.
- Support seasonal operations including snow removal, janitorial tasks, and supervising part-time staff or volunteers.
- Strong landscaping and groundskeeping experience (mowing, trimming, planting, etc.).
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have held it for at least 2 years
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions as well as weekends, holidays, and nights depending on operational needs.
- General knowledge of building maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting).
- Capable of working alone with minimal supervision and also a solid team player.
