Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Turf Care Technician to join our lawn care team. This role focuses on maintaining healthy, green, and weed-free turf for our clients through a professional treatment program. The ideal candidate has 2 years of hands-on experience in turf health, product application, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other turf care products according to company programs and safety standards.
- Diagnose turf health issues (weeds, pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies) and implement treatment solutions.
- Perform seasonal turf care services such as aeration, overseeding, and soil conditioning.
- Safely operate and maintain turf care equipment (spreaders, sprayers, aerators, etc.).
- Keep accurate mandated records of applications, products used, and site conditions.
- Monitor client lawns and communicate professional recommendations for ongoing improvement.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and state/local regulations for product applications.
Qualifications
- Possession of a State Pesticide Applicator License or Registered Technician
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience applying turf treatments (fertilizers, weed control, pest/disease treatments, etc.).
- Knowledge of turfgrass species, soil health, fertilizers, and pest/weed management.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and operate turf equipment safely.
Preferred
- Experience in diagnosing advanced turf issues and creating treatment plans.
- Background in lawn care, landscaping, or turf management education.
- Energetic candidate who can work independently, expand our program, and grow into a leadership role.
- Bilingual a plus.
