Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure healthy turf and landscaping for our clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience troubleshooting irrigation systems, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new irrigation systems, including piping, sprinklers, valves, and controllers.
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation issues such as leaks, broken lines, malfunctioning heads, valves, and wiring problems.
- Program, adjust, and maintain irrigation controllers to optimize water efficiency.
- Perform seasonal irrigation services including spring startups, mid-season inspections, and winterizations.
- Test system performance and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
- Ensure compliance with water conservation practices and local regulations.
- Keep accurate records of service, repairs, and parts used.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members about system performance and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with residential or commercial large irrigation systems.
- Experience in the installation of new irrigation systems, repairs/maintenance, winterization, and turn-ons.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation components, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Customer service skills and the ability to explain work to clients in a professional manner.
Preferred
- Irrigation Technician Certification (CIT) or similar credential.
- Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification a plus.
- Experience with smart irrigation technology and water conservation practices.
- Energetic candidate who can work independently, expand our program, and grow into a leadership role.
